Wollongong Memorial Gardens is a service of Wollongong City Council. We've been operating since 1959.

Because we're publicly-owned, you can rest assured that your memorial or burial site will be permanent, and will continue to be cared for by our dedicated team for many generations to come. This is not always the case with commercial sites, which are often only guaranteed for a limited number of years.

Our services
- Providing permanent spaces for memorials and burials across the Wollongong area.
- Caring for our gardens and cemeteries to make sure they offer a peaceful environment for loved ones to be remembered.
- Future planning services for individuals, couples and families.
- Spaces for indoor and outdoor funeral or memorial services.
- Regular community memorials at Christmas, Mothers' Day, Fathers' Day and other significant dates throughout the year.
- Maintaining burial and memorial records, and making them available for historic and family research.
- Working with local historians to care for pioneer cemeteries.
Some things we don't do
The following services are not currently offered by Wollongong Memorial Gardens:
- Cremation services. Our crematorium closed in 2018. Cremation services are available through two private operators in the Wollongong area, as well as others in nearby Shoalhaven and Sutherland shires. We still offer options for the interment or scattering of cremated remains.
- Funeral director services. We work closely with local funeral directors, who coordinate final arrangements after someone passes away.
- Pet burials or cremations.
